The reason why many turn to substance abuse is that they are unable to deal with life’s problems. Or their expectations are unrealistic. Depression and anger, sadness and frustration are further fuelled by drug-dependency, alcoholism or both.

Daniel Goleman, in Emotional Intelligence says that it is the lack of application of intelligence to emotions that makes one lonely and depressed, angry, unruly, prone to worry, more impulsive and aggressive.


Meditation is beyond our mind. (What is Meditation? Part-II)

For most of us, Meditation is an Experience, being in the state of “thoughtless awareness” and is beyond our mind. Therefore, we  neither can define it nor understand it. How can we define through our mind the taste of Apple Juice?

Meditation is above our thoughts and  happens effortlessly , yes, it has to happen spontaneously and it has to happen on our pure desire.


Meditation is not concentration. (What is Meditation?)

Is Meditation concentrating on something?

Is it imagining something that gives you peace or satisfaction?

Is it a step-by-step process to slow down and, eventually, completely stop the incessant activity of our minds?

Not really – they are substitutes for meditation because it is normally very difficult to stop our minds all-together. In reality, meditation is a state of thoughtless awareness. It is not an act of doing – it is a state of awareness - you think when it is necessary and you are thoughtless when there is no need to think.

Although, there are numerous benefits related to Meditation I am just listing a few:
